Green Day Tribute Band

They were not, of course, an overnight success. The Green Day story goes back to 1987, when Mike and Billy Joe were struggling to get gigs under the name of Sweet Children. It had taken hard work and a steady climb to get to the point where they could rightly claim to be the biggest punk band on the planet. More than anyone else, it was Green Day who opened the doors for the likes of Blink 182, The Bloodhound Gang, and even contemporaries like The Offspring, NOFX and Rancid. Would Limp Bizkit have achieved the huge success they have now if Green Day hadn't paved the way? It seems unlikely. Their story is told on Maximum Green Day.
